as of January 2024, this is where I am:

Geographically? New Haven, CT.

Emotionally, spiritually, artistically?? I am working on sharing more of myself in process. So let’s begin.

This is me doing a little pre show speech before my senior thesis at Boston University! I was very nervous (as you can tell by the clasped hands) but so proud (as you can tell from the grin).

If you’ve never met me––hi, how did you find me, that’s so cool––here are a few key facts:

  • I’m the second oldest of five siblings (and one of them is always calling me),

  • I love storytelling in all forms, mainly theatre-making and creative writing, but I will also talk tv and movies like it is my job,

  • I’m an ardent supporter of late bloomers.

I graduated from Boston University’s College of Fine Arts in May of 2018 with a BFA in Theatre Arts. I feel like I’m reaching the tail-end of my time limit for mentioning that in my introduction, but I credit my four years studying theatre in Boston for cultivating my curiosity and fortifying my comfort with discomfort. I have slowly been defrosting my bravery after a season of protection brought on by life’s challenges, both the global and the personal. I return to my formal education not to get nostalgic, but to remember what’s still in my power to recapture as I move forward with my creative future.

Conversations (or debates or arguments) with my classmates were my most valuable homework; I learned to question the hierarchies of creative collaborative processes and to reach for specified accessibility and diversity in ever step of the process. I practiced holding my ground, shutting up and admitting when I was wrong, so very wrong. I learned that indifference usually causes more damage than conflict.

That kind of learning is what I’m seeking, and why I’ve decided to take up this chunk of the internet to share conversations with folks outside my current reach. Some day, I hope to return to making theatre in person with my friends. But for now, I’m doing this:

  • reading, almost indiscriminately, everything that catches my eye or finds its way onto my desk (subscribe to my newsletter for a weekly update)

  • searching for opportunities to collaborate with other creative, curious people,

  • persuading my friends to let me interview them for a podcast I’m cooking up about our relationships with the Internet,

  • writing a novel (and looking for fellow writers to share drafts with!)

  • prioritizing a curious mind, kind heart and a warm sense of humor in all that I do! (and forgiving myself when I forget to do so)

Where are you?
